Fair Market Value lease

You need more trucks, but you don’t want additional assets on your balance sheet or big payments at the end

of the term. Here’s a lease that behaves like a rental… and lets you avoid the hefty charges on the back end.

If you’ve ever leased a car, you know how easy it can be to wrap things  up when the  lease comes to term. You can conclude your lease and even

decide to purchase the vehicle or lease another. Within the past two years, fleet owners and operators have been able to do the same thing with

preowned Freightliner vehicles, thanks to a strategic finance option called the SelectLease, a Fair Market Value (FMV) lease. FMV fleet leasing

options are very similar to an auto lease. You have fixed monthly payments, and at the end of the lease—assuming you’ve met all the

requirements and turn-in conditions—you simply drop the unit off and go on your way. An FMV lease is often described as a “walk-away” lease.

Finance, an FMV lease is an excellent solution for a company wanting to add pre-owned units to its fleet. “The great thing about an FMV

lease is that it can be used by carriers of all sizes,” says McCarthy. “It’s a good fit for corporations looking to add an incremental number of units

monthly payments and greater flexibility.” The available trucks come from top-quality fleets, are well-spec’d and highly reliable. “The cost per

month is usually lower than on a typical loan, and there’s generally a lower buy-in cost,” McCarthy explains, “so there’s the added

advantage of lower cost of operation from the outset.” Walk in with the right paperwork, walk out with a better lease. As one of the top financial

DaimlerChrysler Services-Truck Finance offers three lease options designed specifically for pre-owned equipment. One of these options is

likely to be a perfect fit with your goals and finance preferences: Retail Finance optionThe Retail Finance option is for fleet customers purchasing

preowned Freightliner vehicles. This loan may include such options as balloon payments and skip payments. The customer is ultimately the owner

of the truck with DaimlerChrysler Services-Truck Finance taking a lien on the vehicle as collateral until the loan is paid in full. Advantages:

lease. It’s designed for small- to medium-size fleet customers who prefer not to own vehicles. With SelectLease, you pay only for the use of a truck

over a given term—typically between 24 to 36 months. At the end of the term, you turn in the truck and walk away without further obligation.
